Terms of service

Last updated 2026. These terms apply to everyone using Statif.

1. The service

Statif provides automated statistical analysis of data you upload and a marketplace where you may engage independent statisticians. Statif is a facilitator; statisticians are not employees or agents of Statif.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure and be responsible for activity on your account. Accounts are personal and may not be shared.

3. Your data

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant Statif the limited licence needed to store, parse and analyse your files to deliver the service. You confirm you have the right to upload the data and that it complies with any ethics approval or consent that applies to it.

4. Statistical output

Results are computed with published, documented formulas and are provided for informational purposes. They are not clinical, financial or legal advice. You remain responsible for interpreting and reporting the output, including whether the assumptions of a test are met for your study.

5. Marketplace conduct

  • Communication, file sharing, scheduling and payment for engagements must stay on Statif.
  • Attempting to move an engagement off-platform, or exchanging personal contact details for that purpose, may lead to suspension.
  • Access fees are charged per engagement and are described on the pricing page before you commit.

6. Acceptable use

Do not upload malware, attempt to break access controls, scrape the directory, or use the service to harass others or to process data you are not permitted to process.

7. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance and incidents are posted on the status page.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time; we may suspend accounts that breach these terms. On closure, datasets and exports are deleted according to the retention policy.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Statif's aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including decisions based on statistical output.

10. Changes

We will notify you of material changes to these terms by email or in-app notice before they take effect.
